SHORT DESCRIPTION OF “suSTEMtables”
Our students are demanding a new attitude in our current society to avoid possible climate disasters in the future, due to the misuse of energy resources. As future science and engineering students at the University, they are wondering about possible solutions, beyond the domestic sphere, that can reduce the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
All European countries are investing in the implementation of technological systems that allow the production of electrical energy from renewable resources of solar origin, and we want to introduce our students to the possibilities of evolving towards a more sustainable world through the massive use of these energy sources in the future.
AIMS
Our objectives include technological aspects related to Sustainability, such as:

  • knowing the different alternatives of renewable energy resources that are being used in our society
  • researching the scientific principles that make the use of solar energy possible at industrial and domestic levels
  • creating experimental prototypes that imitate, on a small scale, the technical solutions for obtaining clean energy used in real situations
  • taking advantage of the mobilities of the Erasmus+ project to visit facilities and factories that do not use fossil fuels for their normal operation.
  • raising awareness among our students, especially girls, of the importance of their future training in STEM studies and thus providing possible solutions to the challenges arising from climate change.
